Fastfrwrd Governance Structure:
At Fastfrwrd we want strong involvement in how the site assists you in your eco journey. Once a quarter we have Governance Gatherings announced 1 month in advance. For any decision made, we need a 75% ‘Yes’ vote.
In order to take part in Fastfrwrd Governance you must have a Verified Adult checkmark which can be obtained at gatherings in person with an ID check or online through a £1 refunded charge on the marketplace that can alert parents that their minor is using a card to fake adulthood.
Once you have 50 or more Dews you unlock the “Governance” rank.
At 500+ all-time Dews you can get blog posting capabilities (not mandatory to use, of course). This privilege can be revoked if someone reports your posts but this will not get you kicked from the platform.
At 10,000 all-time Dews and 100 5-star reviews from site members with 10+ 5-star reviews and a 75% “Yes” from other “Governance”-ranked participants in the next Governance Gathering, you can earn admin privileges.
Governance Issues often Discussed:
How to moderate without kicking anyone:
It seems a waste to kick people from the site when they came here likely for a reason. We need every possible participant.
51% Investments:
Fastfrwrd takes 8% from each sale on the marketplace and plants trees as well. Of that 8%, 51% goes to Fastfrwrd as an entity to develop group benefits.
The other 49% is split evenly between all who operate the platform backend.
Game projects that earn also split profits evenly across those involved in the project.
The Fastfrwrd 51% can go towards various things like group insurance for Incentive Creators, R&D (Research and Development) for alternatives to packaging, Renewable Energy for Shared Houses, a green plane, etc. These are big dreams so we have to start small but as we grow, so can our shared benefits.
House Sharing:
We can provide feedback on the issues faced while sharing houses on the platform for eco coworking and play. Optimization and safety are important.
Rules for Embargo Nations:
It is not great to receive group punishment so how do we interact with people from nations facing global embargoes?
Outlook on Physical Goods Offsets:
It is debatable whether tree offsets are the best way forward. We can explore the matter.
Opensource Tools to Support and Enhance:
WordPress is our site software and this is maintained often for free or cheap by a lot of programmers making ‘plugins’. These plugins can be programmed by the public and so we can discuss and action WordPress ecosystem upgrades.
Annual Goals for “Game Your Life”:
Picking annual goals makes it easy to participate.
Category Review:
Sometimes the points system needs calibrating.
Soft Skills for Correcting Cheaters:
Maybe we don’t want to kick people who choose to chill on Fastfrwrd but cheat.
You get:
A better site, a sense of ownership and a certificate from the Governance Project if you wish.
Proposed Format:
12-hour gathering to catch every timezone, 4 moderators in shifts, voting takes place throughout after discussion. There is a plaintiff card that can be bought for 50 Dews to dispute a 75% ‘Yes’ you do not agree with.
