Fastfrwrd Headquarters Retreat in Portland, Jamaica
Here, artists/creatives and travelers can arrange a visit, booking online or being invited if they are a creative we want to host a residency with.
Arrival:
All visitors have to arrive carbon neutrally. For creatives in the residency, Fastfrwrd’s carbon neutral plane picks them up (more about our carbon neutral plane dreams). For other visitors, they can arrive on a sailboat, take a plane and show that they triple offset the trip, or upon arrival pay about 800 Dews from their saved up eco actions after we examine their profile and reviews.
Residency:
The creative if they are a musician, we arrange a performance day, scheduled ahead of time that guests can look forward to and book their trip for. During the creative’s 2 week residency, we create a Fastfrwrd exclusive. We also podcast the process/document it once Fastfrwrd has video streaming available, showing the influences for this piece of art, song, short film, etc.
Retreat:
This retreat is filled with farmed foods, cabins, a shared kitchen area, a lounge area, is close to the beach and close to a river (we already have the location, it’s just to build it). It is on the Jamaican coast and provides a sort of encouragement to fight for the planet knowing that places like these can disappear if we don’t do something about it.
Free/Work Exchange Stay:
If you have 800 Dews and have booked your trip, there are a few seats for every reservation period where you can book for no money, only the expectation that you will assist in gardening and tending to the property or some sort of Fastfrwrd work. You could get a certificate for anything requiring learning and expertise at the end as well as a Fastfrwrd review.
