Fastfrwrd Augmented Reality Upgrade

Welcome to the Fastfrwrd Augmented Reality Upgrade Survey

Thanks for participating in this survey. We are thinking about upgrading Fastfrwrd to be an Augmented Reality project still with the aim of gamifying climate action, and we are wondering how to get there in a way that will have maximum impact.

The project is intended to grow and grow until 2030, at which time we will either have succeeded in making an impact or would have to rethink how we can be instrumental in making a livable world.

The questions with checkboxes allow you to select multiple answers.

If you wish, you can share your email with us to be updated about the progress of this project when we institute these changes!

Imagine... and say what you think, Land Quest:

Imagine a map of your community. There are spots on the map that indicate places where you can carry out an eco action based on public satellite data. There is a piece of public land that has been dried out and could use some regenerative reforestation near you. Fastfrwrd gives you the best practices on how previous people have gotten land restoration permits. Your first Quest therefore is to get permission from your local government to repair this land on the map and you are given tools to do this, your Quest is announced on the map and others can join (if you make it public).

Imagine... and say what you think, Land Restoration:

Imagine further now: You use the Fastfrwrd app for intricate steps on how to restore land, with Quests, and rewards for fulfilling the quests to restore the land. There is visual feedback when the satellite image of the land restored indicates it has now been reforested. You gain XP and Dews (eco points for spending on digital goods that other participants make), and those you worked with on the project can share references for the time spent working together. This is:

Imagine... and say what you think, Machine Learning:

Imagine next: The steps for how to get things done are assisted with machine learning. It runs on green energy, it is publicly coded, and publicly trained based on what Fastfrwrd participants share willingly, and it is there for accessible learning for those who cannot read well and those who need simple instructions with illustrations and custom made explanations of hard topics. This is....?

Imagine... and say what you think, Human Learning:

Imagine instead of 'machine learning' then, no matter how ethical, what if we had a 'Human Interface' process where you are encouraged to talk to and interact with human experts who volunteer their time on Fastfrwrd in order to earn Dews (eco points in our gamified world) that they can use to get other in game perks of their own. Perhaps you even pay Dews for their time. This in 'game' currency can buy digital goods like music, ebooks, art, and more from other Fastfrwrders who share their digital creations on the in game marketplace. They can also get game rewards in other popular games, etc so long as they are digital. If you choose not to use 'machine learning' to assist you with your land restoration quest, instead you can have a lesson with a land restoration guru, and they can teach you on video phone and you eventually can also become a teacher too once you have enough XP in that area. Would this...?

There is Gamification and then there's Hypergamification. Would you...?

Gamification means adding game like elements to things that are not usually games. Hypergamification or games based learning is where the game like elements are so pronounced that it is more game than anything else. We have game worlds with hivemind societies, werewolves, beings of light and spirits of nature, future witches and ghostkeepers (people who milk ghosts for ectoplasm). They exist in an interlinked multiverse of ecological damage. These worlds are solarpunk and lunarpunk inspired. What if your eco actions took place in these worlds as an option you switch to like a layer on the map? This would be...?

The money question. Would you toggle on ads?

While we would want people to earn Dews (eco points) for work they do to spend on digital incentives (rewards) that other players make, if you run out of Dews and don't have anything immediate to do to get them but need Dews to unlock something, you can buy more or buy the item itself with cash (and plant a tree for a $0.35 USD surcharge). However, we also thought of having an optional mode where a leaderboard is shown of companies that offer eco products, ranked based on how green they are, all of whom offer discount codes for those who click on their ad. You can toggle on 'Ad Mode' and toggle off. We would have to have a certification checker in order to update the leaderboard. This is...?
