Can I Earn Money with Fastfrwrd

While this feature is new, yes you can sell items on the marketplace for both GBP currency and Dews (site points). Users sometimes run out of Dews and non-members don’t have any, so if your stuff is in demand you can earn 92% of the price of the goods you sell, 8% goes to Fastfrwrd so we can continue hosting you and your awesome content ecologically and plant trees!

Are Downloads Secure?

Our host GreenGeeks has assured us that the website is highly secured. So downloads should be clean and bug-free.

How Many Dews (Site Currency) Is My Sales Item Worth?

Items are automatically given an equivalent price of Dews to USD/GBP type costs. So if you would sell something for $10 USD/GBP it would cost 10 Dews.

What Do You Sell?

Users submit digital items to the marketplace. These can be books, music, independent journalism, art, short stories, academic papers, clothing patterns etc. You can also sell online services and you are encouraged to use green video conferencing services like Crewdle Connect or others if you need to chat.

No, at the moment Fastfrwrd is for adults only as adults are more likely to have the freedom to do what it takes to become Carbon Neutral.

Why Opensource

Currently the keys to our survival as a planetary system are being held hostage by patents and copyrights or given for ‘free’ on data-hungry platforms that turn their users into the product. Those who have access to these life-saving innovations are usually middle- and upper-class individuals in the developed world who already stand a good chance of survival. The remainder suffer climate catastrophies and wait for aid from the more climate-resilient and wealthy nations. This does not work. By creating a climate commons, we are preparing individuals for the future and living the future Utopia of abundance NOW.

Why Low-tech First?

Fastfrwrd aims to be accessible and inclusive. Most climate work, aside from tree-planting, requires some amount of power, machinery and/or expertise and elitist resources. This means only a few people can do it. We don’t have time for that. Everyone needs to get in on the action for it to work. While everyone can change their eating habits, industry is the bigger problem. By innovating ways to side-step industry and even give people climate work that is accessible, effective, easy to do and sharable, we break down productivity from just industrial activity to cottage industry. This approach, we believe, should be prioritized over resource-hungry high-tech approaches. Low-Tech first, however, also means high-tech upgrades to each project are welcome.

Can I Upload Pornography to the Marketplace?

We do not allow videos of copulation for legal reasons but audiobooks and texts, ebooks and images that we categorize as ‘Mature Themes’ meant to tittilate and awaken one’s sexual appetite are allowed but not actual sex visuals without an artistic context.

That being said, we very much encourage sensual art that awakens the sexual appetite of those who consume the art, we especially allow full detailed acts in writing, audiobooks and illustrations but video pornography involving couples, etc is restricted to what our audience finds palatable and easy to defend legally. Real sex on video is therefore prohibited but that just challenges you to create artistic works of sexual art in writing, audiobooks and illustrations which we accept more readily for legal reasons.

But please feel very free to create your own porn groups on the platform and share eco porn! Just not on the public timelines. Fap and schlick away, friend!

Do I have to share marketplace earnings with the people I give attribution to for people who share Creative Commons items?

No, your creations on the marketplace are yours. Give credit for things you have used, ask permission to use images, etc.

What is Vegan Media?

Media that does not involve meat, animal abuse, animal by-products like honey or leather, the use of bacteria for human needs, animal testing, killing insects or any other murder or commodification of sentient beings. You don’t have to be vegan, you just have to not show off your chicken dinner because something died and we’re all about life here. You are still welcome. <3

What is considered ‘Hate’ or ‘Negativity’?

We consider works that promote death, pain, bullying or insults to be hate or negativity. This list includes reclaimed slurs.* Because climate work is so taxing, we wish to have a pure source of hope, inclusivity, and positivity for our audience to enjoy. This is the kind of art we promote in order to have a recognizable ‘brand’ that our audience can rely on regardless of the fact that marketplace items are coming from various sources. Ecological, vegan and positive messages are our ‘brand’ and this uniformity is the hallmark of our marketplace.

Why Do You Need Vegan Media?

The average programming on television and streaming is full of triggers that show us how much work there is to do in order to fix our ecosystem and change hearts and minds. Furthermore, it gives the impression that unecological behaviour should be the norm. Hollywood has chosen a strange gambit of incrementalism, a line or two of pro-environmental commentary before eating a corndog.

We do not do incrementalism here at Fastfrwrd, not when there are only 5 years, 4 months until 2030 as of writing this post.

We live the vegan future now. Ethical lacto-ovo submissions are allowed but wearing leather or promoting the use of honey for example is not so it is best to simply call it vegan media.

I’m a Creator but I Don’t Have Inspiration

+ You can browse around various timelines or set up a call with a moderator in order to get some inspiration. Remember, your creations incentivise Seekers’ climate actions.

+ You can try new things for a low fee or take a break if needed, use the site socially and create when you are ready. The beauty of the Fastfrwrd system is that anyone can create. This means you should feel secure in the knowledge that someone, somewhere is creating so you don’t have to, you get to.

If you get the ghost screen of death it’s most likely because you used an emoji and the platform doesn’t always support emojis in product pages. Remove the emojis and try to submit again!

I am experiencing a lag in my messages.

A message thread under a subject is meant to be like an email chain, not too many additional threads. So for each new topic send a new message with a new subject line to avoid lag by clicking the envelope icon on the top menu, “Menu” and the three stacked lines (hamburger menu), “Compose” and insert the username you wish to speak to – a friend – and subject line for what this thread is about.

Where do transactions take place and is it secure?

Payments are processed through Stripe or Link kf you choose, you simply click the purchase button and fill in our form which takes you to the completion screen on Stripe’s site.

How do reviews work?

If you carry out a project with a user you can review their response and skills and leave a message about your time working towards a more ecological world together. This helps us have memories of the steps we have taken and have a nice journal of recollections.

Try converting it to another allowed format, mp3, ogg, wav and ensure they are under 10MB.

Don’t want your marketplace items to be on sale (discounted)?

Simply leave the ‘Sale’ price box empty.

How to edit a post?

Posts cannot be edited at the moment they can only be deleted and then you can repost the correct thing. Your points will adjust accordingly.

My hashtag comments aren’t showing up when I search for the hashtag.

Hashtag searches only work for posts at the moment, not comments.

Can I add a category while sharing a post?

No, you can’t attach a category on a post you are sharing to collect points off another post for, say, replicating an eco action.

I want my account to be private, are my posts showing up on the Public timeline?

Seekers are invited to make their profile private should they wish to stay off the public timeline that anyone on the interwebs can see, otherwise be aware that Public posts mean anyone anywhere can see these posts. To prevent that you can make your profile private and friends only.

We have Google reCaptcha on the homepage for now for login security. There are likely (I’m not an expert, expert) trackers from Google active on the login page that are blocked by Ecosia’s built-in Anti-Tracker and adblock. We do not have ads but we don’t know what Google has crawling around on that login page. If you want to login all the same, then set Fastfrwrd.info as an exception when you “Edit” the cookie blocking pop up on the login page. If you have better recommendations of non-tracking login page security do tell by Contacting Us.

Can audio clips on the timeline be downloaded?!

Yes. I don’t know how to make it not do that, that’s how WordPress is set up, if you wanna form some code so it can be optional, would be dope. So because clips on the timeline can be downloaded, name the file something you’re comfortable sharing, add audio tags to identify yourself and just remember this is the internet, anyone can find stuff. If you don’t want it downloaded without stats, put it on the marketplace so you can see who downloads your stuff, marketplace items appear on the timeline when published.

I don’t like a review someone left 🙁

No worries, rules for reviews are on the way, but in general, reviews are meant to really be ‘references’ and compliments and memories. Just saying how you experienced another consciousness while doing something eco together. And if there are truths there that should be confronted it can also be left but it may be better to just ask for the account to be banned than to leave a public reference. That said, reviews can be hidden but we keep a record internally, not for a greater purpose but to ensure record keeping is kept and we can understand what we need to refine in the process of facilitating online coexistence.

Can I request my data?

Yes you can! You can make a data removal request in your account by going to “Account Settings” > “Export Data” and make the request, give it about 7 days for a response before using the contact form to request and I’ll see your request in the system and can expedite the process and send you a link for the download of the data you have shared with us.

I can’t find my note in the notes page search.

You may need to refresh the page if it’s a new note you added while on the page. Also you can’t undo in the notes app, just be aware.

Those are your site points. Mycred is the plugin we use.

Why are prices in pounds, GBP £?

The project is based in Jamaica but we have a temporary UK-based account and don’t want conversion fees. Hopefully we can have a Jamaican account and maybe list default prices in USD but nothing wrong with using the strongest currency as a barometre of what things should cost!
